Casa Milà Tickets: Entry, Tours and Night Visit

Updated:

Short answer. For a first visit to Casa Milà, choose the entry ticket with audio guide: you walk at your own pace and the audio guide explains what you see. If you want someone to tell you the story, choose the guided tour. For a different mood, there is a sunset visit in season and a night tour with a light show on the roof.

Which Casa Milà ticket should I choose?

Here is a simple way to decide:

You can see all of them, with the days on offer, on the Casa Milà tickets page.

What does the entry ticket with audio guide include?

It is the basic visit: the ticket and an audio guide. You walk through Gaudí’s flowing building at your own pace, past the ornate interior and up to the chimneys on the roof, and the audio guide tells you what you are looking at. You choose the day when you book, and you can cancel up to 24 hours before.

A visit usually takes about an hour and a half, so there is no need to rush. The hours and directions guide has the opening times.

Is the guided tour worth it?

If you like to understand what you see, yes. The guide leads you past the stone facade and its iron railings that look like waves, through the two courtyards and a flat with furniture from the early twentieth century, and up to the Whale Attic, where more than 270 arches look like the ribs of a whale. Entry is included.

The guided tour cannot be cancelled, so choose the day with care.

What is the sunset visit like?

It is the same building in the soft light of the end of the day. You choose your entrance between 17:30 and 19:00 and see the late light on the stone and on the rooftop sculptures, with a view of Barcelona. You also get an audio guide.

The visit runs in season, so the days on offer change through the year. It may not fall exactly at the moment of sunset, so think of it as a late-afternoon visit.

And the night visit?

The night tour enters the building at nightfall with a live guide. On the roof an audiovisual show fills the chimneys and walls with images of nature, and the tour ends with a glass of cava. Dinner in the building is optional and separate.

It is a popular visit, so book early. The route may not include the tenants’ flat, so if the flat matters to you, pick a daytime visit.

What about the small-group tour?

This tour takes a maximum of six people, so the guide has time to answer questions. It shows parts of the building that are not in the usual visit, such as the mezzanine, the back patio and the distinctive staircase that links the historic floor with the attic. It lasts about an hour and a half and ends with a glass of cava and sweets. It is meant for people who want a close look.

What is the combo with Sant Pau?

It is one ticket for two Art Nouveau landmarks: Casa Milà, with entry and a video guide, and the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, a hospital designed by Domènech i Montaner, with its architecture and greenery. It is a good fit if Catalan Art Nouveau is the reason for your trip. The combo cannot be cancelled.

Do children need a ticket?

Children under 12 do not pay for entry. Visitors under 18 must be with an adult for the whole visit.

Which one for you?

Short on time? The entry ticket is enough. Want to understand what you see? Choose the guided tour. Want a close look with few people? Choose the small-group tour. Before you go, read what to see in Casa Milà and the story of the building.

Which Casa Milà ticket is the best one?

For a first visit, the entry ticket with audio guide is the simplest. Choose the guided tour if you want the story told as you walk, and the night tour if you want the light show on the roof.

Is there a sunset ticket for Casa Milà?

Yes, in season. You choose your entrance between 17:30 and 19:00. The visit may not fall exactly at sunset.

Does the night tour include dinner?

Dinner is optional. You choose it when you book, and it is separate from the tour.

Can I cancel a Casa Milà ticket?

It depends on the ticket. The entry ticket, the sunset entry, the night tour and the small-group tour can be cancelled up to 24 hours before. The guided tour and the combo with Sant Pau cannot be cancelled.
